The tiny bat sculpture in the square outside this block is a giveaway for its purpose, as Pipistrelle Plaza is the sparkling new headquarters for the Micropolis Bat Conservation Trust. Bats are very popular in the city but are sadly endangered due to all of the building work that goes on. The imposing 1/4 block sits very well in the Downtown area.

Angel Of The North – Micropolis Block #82
This delightful little Micropolis module depicts the inconic Angel Of The North, a huge sculpture by Anthony Gormly which sits on top of a hill on the outskirts of Gateshead in the North East of England. It wasn’t actually built by me, but by my LEGO buddy Richard Carter, aka The Bricks McGee. It arrived mysteriously in my Micropolis layout after I had set up for the Discovery Brick show in October. Richard said he doesn’t really do other microscale builds, and I was welcome to have this lovely model as long as I took it to shows with the rest of my stuff. It’s a deal!
Kyuwar Square – Micropolis Block #81
A newly-commissioned public space has opened in Micropolis, called Kyuwar Square. Designed by renowned LEGO artist Ulysses R. L. Shortener, it uses a mixture of slate and white marble with islands of moss, and numerous glass pavilions dotted about. And if you believe that, you’ll believe anything!
Blue Lagoon Resort – Micropolis Block #80
A few weeks ago I showcased the Blue Lagoon Resort Hotel and promised that the rest of the resort would follow. Well the planners finally approved the scheme so the builders set about construction with much haste, and this is the final result, The Blue Lagoon Resort.
