I thought it was about time to showcase another of my Ninjago District MOCs. This one comprises the Squeeze Juice Bar on the Upper Walkway level, T. Tensegrity Heights – Micropolis Block #182

Rainbow Tensegrity Sculpture
My Rainbow Tensegrity Sculpture

There’s a bit of a craze going around at the moment for gravity-defying Tensegrity models. It has now reached the LEGO corner of the internet, and a few days ago Jason Allemann shared a video on how to make one – so I decided to have a go with a selection of rainbow-coloured bricks at my disposal.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t good enough for my friends in the London AFOLs who goaded me into making a Micropolis version – so here is Tensegrity Heights!

It is a top secret research facility, part of Micropolis University, where the boffins are looking into anti-gravity and other such magic. Of course, being such an iconic building, it’s the worst-kept secret in the city, but the staff are blissfully unaware they have been sussed.

A few days later, Beyond The Brick decided to collect a selection of the best LEGO Tensegrity models in this compilation, and I was delighted to be asked if I would contribute (a short clip appears at 2’08”)

Nougat Court – Micropolis Block #181

Friday, 17th April 2020 By Caz

I recently received some 1×1 trans black bricks from a BrickLink order, along with some 4×8 plates in an unusual colour – medium nogat. I began playing around with them along with some white grille bricks while I was chatting to LEGO buddy Jakob during video call. Eventually I settled on this L-shaped block with a diagonal window pattern, which I thought worked well. So this is Nougat Court, another residential block that will fit in very well in the city.

Krikand Corner – Micropolis Block #180

Monday, 13th April 2020 By Caz

Recently, I was rummaging around my parts collection and came across two black plates – part 2401 – which Bricklink calls Plate, Modified 10 x 10 without Corner. I thought I could use them as the top and bottom of a new Micropolis model. Krikand Corner is a block of apartments, which will look very nice in the residential area of Micropolis.
