Minifig Themed Habitats #20

Wednesday, 26th May 2021 By Caz

I have three more thematic habitats to show you today, the City Tree Guy, Lion Tamer and Cabaret Singer.

You many not recognise City Tree Guy – he is from set 60267 Safari Off-Roader and he is normally seen hiding in the tree costume while stalking a lion on safari. But I thought his torso print was far to good to be hidden under a tree, so here you can see him having a bad day at the park – all the wildlife seems to be out to get him one way or another!

The Lion from that same set came in handy to pair with the CMF series 2 Ringmaster – they are performing together in a circus big top. It shouldn’t happen now, but I remember this kind of thing from when I was young.

Lastly comes the CMF Series 21 Cabaret Singer, whom I have decided is called Diamond Lil. She has a huge pair of lungs on her and will belt out the classics to anyone willing to listen!

Minifig Themed Habitats #19

Recently I’ve been showing you my Monochrome Habitats project and neglecting the others I have built, so today I am presenting The Space Fan, The Spartan Warrior and The Beekeper.

The Space Fan is from CMF Series 20 and she immediately caught my eye – her cool top, spacey baseball cap and actual NASA rocket meant I had to build her a rocket scientit’s lab! I’m not sure how safe it is indoors, but you can even fire the engines!

Next up is a much older minifigure, the Spartan Warrior from Series 2. I felt he needed a big fort to guard, so here you can see him patrolling the battlements on the lookout for invaders. Or is he just wondering when the next shift are due?

The Series 21 Beekeper is another great minifigure who needed a habitat – he’s in his garden with a big hive, surrounded by plants and butterflies. His smoke can at the ready, he’s harvesting some tasty honey by the looks of it.

Monofigure Habitats #13

Tuesday, 11th May 2021 By Caz

In this installment of my Monochrome Habitats project, I am showcasing The Lord of the Manor, The Hermit and The Troll DJ.

The Lord of the Manor represents Dark Orange and he is sitting at a banquet in his dusty abode enjoying some food with his only companion, Jaffa the cat. The conversation is quite dull but the company is quite amenable to scritches in return for a chicken leg. And that’s just the Lord!

The Hermit has built his retreat in Dark Brown, but it still contains a few home-comforts such as a wooden stool, a barrel to keep his club tidy and a pot to cook whatever he has just caught in that bag.

Using a Troll head was the only way to complete a Dark Turquoise or Teal minifigure, so I decided to embrace the weird and build the troll an outdoor space for a jam session. Their gecko pet enjoys sitting on the boombox listening to the beats. Many thanks must go to my good LEGO buddy Jonas who helped me source some hard to find fancy fence pieces from Belgium so that I could finish this habitat.

Monofigure Habitats #12

Monday, 10th May 2021 By Caz

I have the penultimate collection of monofigure habitats to show you today. They are The Fish Breeder, The Racing Mechanic and The Lovers.

The Fish Breeder and her habitat are built in Bright Light Blue. She has a hatchery in her lab and she is taking some samples from the fish to make sure they are fit and healthy. The shelf above is full of useful things she needs such as fish food.

The Racing Mechanic has retired to her workshop to do some panel-bashing on her latest car repair. The theme of this Magenta habitat was heavily influenced by the crash helmet and car bonnet which were both available in this colour.

The Lovers are meeting in secret by their favourite fountain. They are each from very diverse backgrounds but love transcends their differences. The boughs of a Medium Azure tree protect them above and offer a degree of privacy for their clandestine tryst.

Monofigure Habitats #11

Sunday, 9th May 2021 By Caz

Today’s Monofigure Habitats once again feature diverse colours for the collection. They are The Bowman, The Warrior and The Dessert Soldier.

The Bowman is depicted in Medium Blue, and was an immediate idea once I had discovered the availablility of that excellent helmet and his crossbow weapons. You can see him here in the armoury getting ready for some target practice out in the courtyard.

Pearl Dark Grey was a tricky habitat to complete due to the lack of bricks, but the figure was interesting enough for me to put together this scene using fence pieces for the structure. I love his winged helmet!

The headgear once again influenced the scene for my Dark Tan monofigure. The goggles and had brought to mind a desert outfit, and once I had eventually sourced a matching camel and a rat hiding by a bush, the scene was complete. The sun is beating down in the background.
