After yesterday’s Pick-A-Brick haul from Westfield Stratford, I thought I would try to make something with a bunch of yellow 1×4 bricks, some large blue plates and a few bits and bobs which had just arrived from eBay. I came up with this MOC for my Micropolis layout, Butterfly Batteries & Solar. I imagine it to be a small business housed in a light industrial unit, manufacturing batteries and solar panels for their tiny customers.

You can see I already made good use of one of the hexagonal panels from the 75038 Jedi Interceptor which I dismantled a few days ago! I have plans for its cockpit canopy too, but that is for another post another time…
Initially, I was a bit disappointed with the blocky nature of the build until I spied the butterflies and a few other yellow bits and pieces in my parts bins, to add to the roof – as well as those rather nice smooth curved 2×4 tiles. With a bit of extra decoration and some landscaping, it all came together well. There are two delivery vans parked out front and a larger truck making a delivery at the rear shuttered door.
