Blockville Update #13 – Ninjago District Expansion
Since my last Blockville update, I have been working hard on my Ninjago District expansion, which lives in another part of the house to the rest of my city. Putting the official LEGO Ninjago City and Docks sets together in a row with my own MOCs of Benny’s Space Bar and the Pit Stop Diner provides this front view of the development. By adhering to the unofficial Ninjago Water Baseplate standard proposed by The Brothers Brick, it enables me to build many diverse models which will fit seemlessly together in pretty much any order that I like, while their foundations and upper street levels will match up perfectly. The models are sitting on a trolley on wheels, with a board on top which will accommodate an area of 3.5 baseplates by 4.5 baseplates, or around 35″x45″. I currently have an area a couple of plates smaller than 2.5 by 4.5 baseplates filled up, so there is room for expansion.
Benny’s Space Bar – LEGO Blockville MOC #9
This MOC is in the Ninjago District of my custom LEGO City Blockville.. I started it in January & made a couple of shops separated by an ornate bridge over the canal with 2 boats The shops are Amy’s Antiquarian Bookstore with Mr Chang’s Grocery Store on the other bank. Above Chang’s is a power plant. The shop above the book store houses Master Wu’s Ninja Supplies. On street level, we have Cornelius Cone’s Ice Cream Parlour & the LEGO Store Ninjago District. The final storey is Benny’s Space Bar! On one side is the Bar, owned by Benny but run by his cousin Denny. Minifig punters can cross the corridor to the Club, where Lenny is King of the Decks & loud music is pumped out of the huge speakers.
