For many months, I have been resisting the temptation to start a collection of monochorme Minifigures – with each figure built entirely from one colour. Well I’ve finally cracked. And not just that, I’ve decided to make each figure a matching Monofig Habitat to fit their characters. Here are the first three.

For starters, we have The Prisoner, a rather unfortunate light bluish grey chap who has been incarcerated in his prison for so long that his hair has gone wild and his beard is bushy and unkept. Being the first mono habitat I built, I went through all of my parts drawers looking for the most interesting ang greebly parts to adorn his environment.

The next is The Adventurer, who is rather suited to his reddish brown habitat. He has a bow and arrow for protection, a backpack full of supplies, a hat which means business and a book which he hopes will lead him to hidden treasure. I can’t help but think that something is watching him though – do you see a face in the background?

Making a pearl gold Monofigure is not too difficult, but constructing a suitable habitat is a bit more tricky, due to the lack of bricks in that colour. But some fancy oriental fence pieces and a couple of ornate wheels came to the rescue here. The baseplate had to be dark tan rather than pearl gold, but that’s a compromise I’m prepared to make where necessary, for this and other habitats.
