Draco House is another office for the Downtown area of Micropolis. It has a simple construction with SNOT bricks inside, holding two 4×6 black plates vertically on each side. The corner gaps are filled in with 1×1 round bricks to give the impression of impressive pillars which hold up the roof.
Having participated in the crazy build for LEGO’s House of DOTS collaboration with artist Camille Walala back in January, I was interested to see the huge feature in issue 65 of Blocks Magazine (March 2020) which describes in detail how Camille came up with the concept. There is even a quote from yours truly about what it was like to take part in the build!
It was great to be part of a team building something big for the launch. It deinitely felt
like a collaboration between us and the two Master Builders, Libor and Peter
from the Kladno Model Shop [in the Czech Republic]. There were problems
along the way, but we were all able to contribute ideas and solutions, rather than
just being instructed what to do all the time.
Also spotted in the same issue was a strange picture of me in the wild – taken during set up day at the LEGO House Masterpiece Gallery – in a small piece about LEGO buying Bricklink! Not sure what I have to do with that, but I feel slightly seen…
