I’ve waited over 35 years for this to happen! YES! I have finally got the Holy Grail of sets for Classic Space fans, Galaxy Explorer (928) [also known as Space Cruiser & Moonbase, depending if you are in the UK or US].

I never owned this one as a child, it was always that set which was out of reach that I used to pour over the catalogue page and imagine what it would be like if I got it. Well now I know!
One of the hardest parts to get in good condition is the aerial element on top of the moonbase – thankfully this one is all in one piece and no bent tines. As you can see, Benny is already in on the act and directing the operation.

The astronauts are smiling and happy dudes – and who can blame them when they are at the helm of such an awesome machine?

This is a noisy old photo taken with my phone, but here are all my Classic Space sets together on some Moon baseplates of varying colour.

Benny was also keen to show off his ship with these venerable oldies too. They make a grand display.
