I know a few of the folks from LNUR, the LEGO Northern UK Railway LUG, and was recently invited to take part in their podcast about different scales of LEGO trains. I talked about my Microscale trains and trams, and also my custom Monorail train, which is 4-studs wide. Here is the podcast if you would like to listen:
Blockville Update #10 – Monorail Loop, Horizon Express & Magic!
Despite being ill recently, I’ve managed to get a few jobs finished in my custom LEGO City Blockville.
The Monorail now has a complete loop of track, supported on proper pillars above the train tracks. I’ve finished building the main Funland Station and Monorail interchange, and Old Town now has a Monorail station of its own as well.
A new high speed passenger service has commenced, the Horizon Express, which connects Blockville to other cities.
Rockets have now been elevated on a platform in the far corner above the train tracks. And another new Sigfig resident has arrived – JC from Small Brick City, the famous illusionist who is on an international tour and is performing a private show on the roof of the Palace Cinema for the other sigfig residents.

Exhibition: LMEE 2018
The London AFOLs were sharing a stand at the London Model Engineering Exhibition with Brickish at Ally Pally over the weekend. Several of our members had built GBC modules and they were all put together to make a ridiculously pointless ball-carrying contraption, including two of mine. The punters loved it! Here’s a video of the circuit:
I was helping to run the machine all day, and heard many complimentary comments. The two best ones were:
This is the best LEGO model I’ve ever seen!
and
This is the best model in the whole show!
High praise indeed… Anyway, here are my two contributions merrily shifting balls.

And the public clearly loved it – there were loads of questions from young and old alike.

I was allowed out for a little while to look at the rest of the LEGO on display, here is a selection of photos of other builds:

So all in all my first experience at exhibiting was a good one, great fun and excellent company. When’s the next one?
