As part of the Airport expansion scheme, the Micropolis planners insisted that a large hotel and multistorey car park was built close to the site. The Hotel Volante is part of a bigger chain, with faceless uniform rooms and basic facilities – but charged at a premium price! It’s a business model that is bound to succeed.
As Micropolis has grown, it has struggled to cope with the influx of visitors. So the Mayor decided that a brand new City Airport should be built on the edge of town, to provide another means for business people and tourists to travel to the city.
