Meetup: Brick Alley March 2018

Saturday, 10th March 2018 By Caz

Today I had the pleasure of visiting Brick Alley – the RLUG for North East England. They hold their meetings at the Head of Steam Railyway Museum in Darlington on the second Sunday of each month. I had engineered my trip up north such that I could pop in to the meeting on my way home driving south.

The members were encouraged to bring some of their MOCs to the event (I had packed a couple of Micropolis modules to show off too). Star Wars WIP:

Haul #18: Sainsbury’s Benton

Thursday, 8th March 2018 By Caz

I had heard on the grapevine that Sainsbury’s were having a bit of a sale on LEGO. So I persuaded Alistair to take me to his local branch and I had a poke about to see what I could find. I came away with two copies of 10692 Creative Supplement and one of the 10401 Rainbow Fun boxes – the smallest of the 60th Anniversary of the Brick sets.

I will use the Rainbow Fun pack to build something for Micropolis, but I think I’m going to save the larger sets for a possible future venture. I’m not sure when I will get it up and running yet, but it’s good to have them in hand for the moment.

Meetup: Bricks & Beers Newcastle, March 2018

Wednesday, 7th March 2018 By Caz

I was in Newcastle this week and was lucky enough to attend the first Bricks & Beers event held at Arch2 in Ouseburn, hosted by LEGO AFOL The Bricks McGee.

There were AFOLs, beers and plenty of bricks. We had a lot of fun building some local landmarks. Here is a selection of photos from the evening, click the image to see the next:

It’s a pity that I live 250 miles from Newcastle, or I would be at the meetings every month, for sure. But I do hope to attend a few more over the coming months, if I can.
