Since my last Blockville update, I have been working hard on my Ninjago District expansion, which lives in another part of the house to the rest of my city. Putting the official LEGO Ninjago City and Docks sets together in a row with my own MOCs of Benny’s Space Bar and the Pit Stop Diner provides this front view of the development. By adhering to the unofficial Ninjago Water Baseplate standard proposed by The Brothers Brick, it enables me to build many diverse models which will fit seemlessly together in pretty much any order that I like, while their foundations and upper street levels will match up perfectly. The models are sitting on a trolley on wheels, with a board on top which will accommodate an area of 3.5 baseplates by 4.5 baseplates, or around 35″x45″. I currently have an area a couple of plates smaller than 2.5 by 4.5 baseplates filled up, so there is room for expansion.
Pit Stop Diner – Blockville MOC #10
This is my Pit Stop Diner MOC for Blockville’s growing Ninjago District. On the ground floor, the City Pizza Van, set 60150, sits on the quayside with its wheels removed, selling pizza to anyone who might want to stop for a bite to eat along the canal. Next to the van is the booking kiosk for Magenta Boat Rentals, run by Bert the ageing rocker. The Pit Stop Diner itself is on the upper Street level. It started life as the Friends Drifting Diner set, 41349. But I have made some significant additions and modifications from my own bricks to bring it to the full width of the baseplate and make it fully enclosed. On the roof is a tiny apartment of the mad cat lady who owns the diner.
