Monofigure Habitats #2

Friday, 16th April 2021 By Caz

My first trio of Monofigure Habitats proved popular, and I’m pleased to show you another three today, featuring The Rock Star, The Mountaineer and The Downhill Skier.

Mr Red is The Rock Star with a bold moheecan haircut, a bright red axe and a very loud stack of amps behind him. His stage is littered with set dressing and he has a cup of something strong on a table to one side for when he needs to oil his vocal chords and reach the high notes.

From one kind of rock to another, Mr Dark Bluish Grey is The Mountaineer is at the bottom of a very steep, very high mountain which he is about to climb. He has all the gear, but far off in the distance it appears he may have been beaten to the summit by someone who got up earlier!

Mr White is The Downhill Skier and is about to make his final run to go for gold. The starting gate is about to beep and he will be on his way, sliding down the precipitous slopes at a rate of knots.

MOC: Fire HQ

Wednesday, 31st January 2018 By Caz

Micropolis already has a General Hospital, so I thought I better make a Fire Station too. This building was prompted by the arrival of 128 red 1×4 bricks with 3 technic holes (3701), bought from Bricklink for a penny each! They are normally used in Micropolis baseplates, but I stole a few from the stash for this place because I thought they made excellent window elements.

I added some of the large red arches (6060) which I had in my parts drawers to provide some interesting shapes to the exterior.

I have had the stickered flame tile for ages and remembered it would make a good sign to go in front of the building. Add a little bit of landscaping, some roof skylights and a long whip aerial and the build was finished.

Advent: Day 4

Monday, 4th December 2017 By Caz

Inevitably, Star Wars will degenerate into big guns at some point, and it didn’t take long. Here’s a rather menacing looking tripod-mounted gun. Hope it falls into Rebel hands and not into the Empire’s arsenal! I like the modified round-sided plates for the tripod’s legs – not a piece I’ve personally seen before.

The winter theme is alluded to with the 24-in-1 set today, with this nice snazzy bright red snowmobile – perfect for getting around in the winter weather!

MOC: Rainbow Town

Monday, 16th October 2017 By Caz Leave a Comment

I  have decided to start a separate blog for all my LEGO bits as the Toybox was getting a bit crowded with little blocks of plastic – and some of the builds I now create are a bit less “toy” than the stuff over there. Plus, I’ve recently come out of my Dark Ages and wanted to share the fun. I hope you enjoy.

Rainbow Town

Rainbow Town was made with one of my first big boxes of LEGO bits bought when I emerged from my Dark Age. I liked sorting them into colours and thought I would see what I could make out of each set. I’m not sure if its some sort of dystopian nightmare or if it would be a nice place to live!
