This Micropolis block started life in LEGO Digital Designer, as I didn’t have the parts to make it in reality. I chose various transparent coloured bricks to sit behind the mesh plates, with matching decorative tiles around the outsides, in three different colours. Turns out they would cost me a fortune! Drat.

Some time later I did managed to acquire enough of the 8×8 mesh plates, and a large number of trans clear 1×2 bricks, and then the idea resurfaced. It is called Telecom Tower and is the heart of communications in Micropolis.
